The Cannon-Manning Semi-Micro viscometer is useful in situations where available sample is limited since viscosity can be determined with as much as 1ml of sample. The tube is filled by inverting and suctioning the sample into the capillary side. Then the tube is returned to upright position, equilibrated in a bath for 15-20 minutes. Then, suction or pressure sample up past upper timing mark and time the flow between the timing marks. For greater accuracy, repeat the timing procedure several times to get consistent times, the multiply those times the Constant to get viscosity.
