Hydrometers
The hydrometer is a measuring instrument used to determine the density or the specific weight of liquids. The instrument immerses into the liquid up to the point where the weight force of the displaced liquids corresponds to the weight force of the immersed body.
To achieve an exact measurement result you need to use a vessel (cylindrical stand, see accessories) having corresponding size or capacity. In addition, the temperature of the liquid should correspond to the reference temperature of the instrument (as a rule +15 °C to +20 °C).
Our hydrometers (spindle, thickness spindle, densitometer) are manufactured in accordance with national and international standards such as DIN, BS, ASTM and ISO. Each of our instruments is carefully calibrated and are subject to strict quality control. Measurement accuracies within the tolerance limits specified by the Physical Technical Federal Institution (PTB) are complied with in the process.
Amongst other we offer the following in our portfolio:
- Alcoholometers in percent by volume, acc. to class I + II EG-OIML
- Saccharimeters in percent by mass, degree Brix and degree Balling
- Lactodensimeter acc. to Gerber, Quevenne
Depending on the intended application our hydrometers are available in an environmentally-friendly, mercury-free version, with or without integrated thermometer, with a resolution of up to 0.0001 g/cm³ and made of plastic. We gladly supply a works calibration certificate or a traceable DAkkS calibration certificate upon request.
We offer numerous special types for your special applications. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
